In preparation for the 8th ASEANSAI Summit scheduled for November 2025, ASEANSAI convened a series of activities to develop its strategic agenda for endorsement at the Summit. The highlight was the 8th ASEANSAI Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM), held on 9–10 July 2025 in Manila, Philippines.
The meeting brought together 27 delegates from the ten ASEANSAI member SAIs and produced key resolutions, including deliberations on the ASEANSAI Strategic Plan 2026–2029, revised Rules and Procedures, thJe Training Committee Framework, and the ASEANSAI Work Plan 2026–2027. Other institutional matters discussed included the appointment of committee chairs and members, the 2026–2027 budget, the designation of SAI Myanmar as ASEANSAI Auditor for 2024–2025, and the election of SAI Thailand as Vice-Chairperson for 2025–2026.
The SOM further served as a platform to prepare for the leadership transition from SAI Philippines to SAI Singapore, the incoming ASEANSAI Chair. A Pre-Handover Meeting was held on 10 July 2025 to coordinate responsibilities, finalize the ASEANSAI Commemoration Book, and review preparations for the 8th ASEANSJAI Summit. During the handover, ASEANSAI constituents, including the gavel, flag, and nameplate, were transferred to SAI Singapore.
The SOM’s outcomes will be presented for formal adoption at the 8th ASEANSAI Summit in Singapore, which will be held from 11 to 14 November 2025. The summit will also feature a Young Leaders’ Programme and a social programme hosted by SAI Singapore.
