This was followed by traditional dance performances from Malaysia, highlighting Southeast Asia&#8217;s cultural diversity and creating a festive atmosphere for the event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">In his opening remarks, ASEAN Secretary-General Dr Kao Kim Hourn marked the occasion as an important milestone following the adoption of ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future. He expressed optimism about ASEAN\u2019s direction and reaffirmed that inclusivity and sustainability would remain at the heart of regional integration as ASEAN adapts to global challenges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">The program continued with a keynote address by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Sugiono, whose attendance reflected Indonesia\u2019s continued commitment to ASEAN cooperation and regional leadership.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">A symbolic cake-cutting ceremony was held by the ASEAN Secretary-General, together with the Indonesian Foreign Minister. It was attended by members of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN. The event also featured a prerecorded message from Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who emphasized the relevance of this year\u2019s theme and ASEAN\u2019s resilience and adaptability as a regional community.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">The celebration was further enriched by musical performances from disability and autism communities, reflecting ASEAN\u2019s people-centered values.
