{"id":5162,"date":"2019-11-07T10:01:29","date_gmt":"2019-11-07T03:01:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.aseansai.org\/?p=5162"},"modified":"2024-07-31T15:07:12","modified_gmt":"2024-07-31T08:07:12","slug":"5162","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aseansai.org\/?p=5162","title":{"rendered":"PROCEEDING : ASEAN \u2013 ASEANSAI \u2013 AIPA JOINT SEMINAR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u201cLaying the Foundation for Future Cooperation <\/strong><strong>in Promoting Accountability and Transparency <\/strong><strong>in Southeast Asia\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aseansai.org\/2019\/11\/07\/5162\/cover-proceeding\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5164\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-5164\" src=\"http:\/\/www.aseansai.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Cover-Proceeding-212x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"128\" height=\"182\"\/><\/a>The first joint seminar of ASEAN, AIPA and ASEANSAI for Laying the Foundation for Future Cooperation in Promoting Accountability and Transparency in Southeast Asia was organized to establish a foundation for future collaboration among the three organizations. Designed along three sessions, the seminar has helped in developing and expressing a collective voice, finding a common ground and defining collaborative actions. This was achieved by bringing together mid- and high level officials of ASEAN, ASEANSAI and AIPA to identify common grounds, interests and commonalities for potential joint cooperation in the future.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The participants proposed several actions.The following three were the top rated activities:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Joint research on regulation\/training, best practices and learning exchange.<\/li>\n<li>Capacity building activities that includes presentation and exchange on the preparation and use of audits, together with non-audit participants (e.g. Members of Parliament).<\/li>\n<li>Creating a focus group involving ASEAN, ASEANSAI and AIPA and other stakeholders to discuss common issues that are cross cutting, <em>g.<\/em> the challenges and issues in implementing SDGs and cross-border issues.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These top collaborative actions proposed by the participants will serve as the milestone to be followed-up by ASEAN, ASEANSAI and AIPA in the future.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aseansai.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/FINAL_-Proceeding-ASEAN-ASEANSAI-AIPA-Joint-Seminar.pdf\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5163\">Published &#8211; Proceeding ASEAN-ASEANSAI-AIPA Joint Seminar<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&ldquo;Laying the Foundation for Future Cooperation in Promoting Accountability and Transparency in Southeast Asia&rdquo; &nbsp; The first joint seminar of ASEAN, AIPA and ASEANSAI for Laying the Foundation for Future Cooperation in Promoting Accountability and Transparency in Southeast Asia was organized to establish a foundation for future collaboration among the three organizations.
