The 4th<\/sup> ASEANSAI Summit was held on 6 November 2017 in Vientiane, Lao PDR and officially opened by H.E. Mr. Sonexay SIPHANDONE, Deputy Prime Minister of the Lao PDR. The main agenda of this meeting is handover of ASEANSAI Chairmanship from National Audit Authority Kingdom of Cambodia to Sate Audit Office of Lao PDR. In addition to that, the meeting which was attended by all of Head SAIs in ASEAN Region also endorsed the ASEANSAI Strategic Plan for the period of 2018 \u2013 2021, approved the revision of ASEANSAI Rules and Procedures, approved the Committee\u2019s Work Plan for 2018 \u2013 2019 and the appointment of Long Term Secretariat.<\/p>\n

Dr. Viengthong SIPHANDONE, Auditor General Lao PDR was inaugurated as the ASEANSAI Chairperson for the period of 2017 \u2013 2019. While the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia was appointed as the long term Secretariat for the period of 2017 \u2013 2023 and Office of Auditor General of Thailand was re-appointed as the ASEANSAI Auditor.<\/p>\n

At the meeting, the Committee\u2019s Chair, Head of Administration Function and Head of Secretariat Function delivered the activity report on its performance for the period of 2015 until 2017 and the Work Plan of each committee in the next two years.<\/p>\n

The ASEANSAI Summit was attended by all Head of SAIs in ASEAN Region and also attended by the development partners and embassies of ASEAN countries. During the opening session SAI United Arab Emirates delivered a message in its capacity as the INTOSAI Chair through video recording, also representative of ASOSAI Chair, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Community and Corporate Affairs delivered the speeches and extended its appreciation to Madam Som Kim Suor, Auditor General Cambodia for her leadership and congratulate to Dr. Dr. Viengthong SIPHANDONE as the new ASEANSAI Chairperson.<\/p>\n
