Today (26/10/2021), the ASEANSAI Development Coordination Meeting was held as a platform to engage further with the Development Partners to share ideas and initiatives for collaboration, particularly to support the ASEANSAI activities, in facilitating the enhancement of member SAI capacity in performing public sector auditing. Around 40 representatives from ASEANSAI Executive Committee, ASEANSAI Committees, ASEANSAI Secretariat, and Development Partners were presented at the meeting.
Chairman of ASEANSAI and Auditor General of SAI Malaysia, H.E. Datuk Nik Azman bin Nik Abdul Majid, officiated the meeting by delivering the opening speech on the importance to have the collaboration with Development Partner. Following the speech, the Head of the ASEANSAI Secretariat and Secretary-General of SAI Indonesia, Mr. Bahtiar Arif delivered the welcoming remarks by emphasizing ASEANSAI’s commitment to strengthening the role in enhancing the capacity of the members in public sector auditing, which is also in line with the ASEANSAI Strategic Plan.
Mr. Bahtiar Arif continued to lead the next session of the meeting by giving the opportunity to the Development Partners to introduce themselves and deliver a brief overview of the cooperation, presenting the ASEANSAI Committee’s Work Plan 2022-2023 and moderating the discussion session. During the meeting, the priority projects of ASEANSAI activities for the next 2 years were also presented.
Summary of the meeting are as follows:
- Prioritized projects of each committee have been presented at the coordination meeting.
- Secretariat will share the meeting materials and TORs of each project with Development Partners.
- Development Partners who would like to collaborate with ASEANSAI may contact Secretariat for further arrangement.
The result of the meeting will also be reported at the upcoming 6th ASEANSAI Summit to all ASEANSAI members.
