ASEANSAI with its Committees; Strategic Planning Committee, Knowledge Sharing Committee, Training Committee, Rules and Procedures Committee along with the Secretariat have actively and sucessfully implemented the ASEANSAI Strategic Plan 2014-2017 into practice. A number of productive activities have been conducted by the Committees.
In 2017, ASEANSAI has made a number of accomplishment including; (1) Signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Swedish National Audit Office (SNAO); (2) Revising the Rules and Procedures to serve a better needs of ASEANSAI; (3) Continuing the implementation of Long-term Programme on ISSAI Implementation; (4) Delivering the training and knowledge sharing workshop on Quality Assurance and Land & Mineral Resources Audit, Complaint Letter Audit and (5) appointment of the long term of ASEANSAI Secretariat.
Furthermore, ASEANSAI also have successfully developed the Strategic Plan 2018-2021 which outlines focal development targets and prioritized projects to be implemented with the aims to strengthen the capacity and to promote good governance in ASEAN regions.
In February 2018, ASEANSAI presented its profile and role at the 51st ASOSAI Governing Board Meeting held in Bali, Indonesia. In addition to that, in September 2017, ASEANSAI also had the opportunity to make a presentation on the activity progress and discussed the future cooperation with IDI at the IDI Regional Workshop in Oslo, Norway. Sequentially, IDI agreed to support ASEANSAI in the field of ISSAI-based Financial Audit in 2018 – 2019. At the sub-regional level, AIPA invited ASEANSAI to deliver speech on the importance of SAI Independence at the 38th AIPA General Assembly in Manila, Philippines.
