The ASEANSAI Knowledge Sharing Committee (KSC), has the main mandate to encourage cooperation, collaboration and continuous improvement within ASEANSAI members through knowledge sharing. The KSC facilitated knowledge sharing activities among the ASEANSAI member countries through programs implementation and dissemination of results. This contribution could strengthen knowledge on public sector audits among ASEAN countries.
The State Audit Office of the Kingdom of Thailand (SAO Thailand) as the project leader of the workshop on “Conducting Awareness Knowledge Sharing on Good Practices about SAI Independence” conducted a workshop which focuses on topics as follows:
- Forty-one years of Lima Declaration: Magna Carta of Government auditing;
- Mexico Declaration: The development of SAI independence;
- Independence principle under the perception of public law;
- Overview of SAI independence: Some findings from research; and
- Interactive sharing experience and discussion.
This workshop has the objective to encourage and develop knowledge sharing about auditing management among ASEANSAI member countries through various perspectives, experience, research, and best practices in the field of public sector audit.
SAI Thailand shared its knowledge and experience about SAI independence which was started by introducing the concept development of SAI independence. Then the workshop continued with sharing practices by the participating SAIs which conducted awareness on good practices about SAI Independence.
